Congress Street is closed between Toole and Stone for construction on the Modern Streetcar project, but that doesn't need to make it hard to get to the Festival. From the east: You can take Broadway as far as Toole, turn right onto Toole and then left on either Pennington (for the Pennington St. Garage) or Alameda (to get closer to the Festival venues); or, take Speedway as far as Stone and come down Stone. From the south: 6th Ave. is probably the best bet, just be aware that it is temporarily two-way traffic south of Toole. From the west and I-10: Since the closure ends east of the Festival areas, traffic coming from the west side or exiting I-10 at Congress should not be affected. From the north: Use Stone or Main/Granada, same as usual, should be no problem. Here is a helpful map from the 2nd Saturday web site. |
